Caliente thermal targets at 2013 International Sniper Competition

The world's premier snipers converged in Fort Benning last week for the 13th annual International Sniper Competition (renamed the Sniper Knowledge Exchange due to the government shutdown). The Night Shoot at the event went flawless.

Caliente was proud to supply the thermal targets for the night shoot. This marked the first time in the event’s history that powered thermal target overlays were used with steel silhouettes.

The competitors using thermal optics stated that all ten thermal target positions were easily identifiable, even the furthest target at 960 meters.

One official involved with the event stated “Caliente thermal targets stole the show”.

The thermal targets were powered by 12V batteries and remained bright for the entire Night Shoot, ensuring that the last team was provided the same thermal signature as the first team.

“I really appreciate this and the extra efforts you’ve put into this purchase [of thermal targets] are the kind of things that make a company outshine its competitors in the market. We won’t forget this! Myself and the government office I support were very excited to find Caliente and I have really enjoyed working with everyone at the company.”
